Facts About China:

Natural Disasters
In 1976 an earthquake in Tangshan claimed the lives of around six hundred and fifty thousand people.

An earthquake at Yunnan killed over three hundred people and injured many thousands in February 1996. Less than a year later, a quake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale left 44,000 people homeless in Zhangbei (150 miles from Beijing), over fifty people dead and many thousands injured.

At the beginning of 2008 China experienced some of the worst snow storms for fifty years.

Mercy

Communicating Christ's love through ministry to practical needs is effective and well received. Sharing the message can expand proportionally as the relationship and service likewise expand and develop. The following are suggestions for connecting through Mercy Ministry.

Serving Orphans

Visit an orphanage and hold babies, take children to parks or local pools, do English camps or sports camps for older kids, and other VBS type activities.

Community Health

Provide health clinics and health education and training in communities.

Homeless, Drug Addicts, & Sex Trade Workers

Spend time with, give encouragement and prayer through team translators. IMPORTANT! When ministering to people involved in the sex trade ~ Women should only talk to women, and men should only talk to men.
